FAQ

Can you fly in the wind and rain?

No. We cannot fly in the rain, or in wind, where wind speed exceeds 10 mps. We will check the weather forecasts in the days leading up to any shoot and on the day, to make sure that the conditions are safe to launch the drone. The pilot will have the final say as to whether it can be deemed safe to launch the drone or not

How long can you fly for?

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2 has one on board battery which provides a flight time of approximately 20 – 25 minutes, depending on the weather. We do carry a couple of spare batteries, all of which are rechargeable.

How high and far can you fly?

We are restricted by law as to how high and how far we can fly. We can fly up to a height of 400ft (121 metres) above ground level and out to a range of 500 metres of the remote pilot, who must be able to maintain ‘Visual Line of Sight’ of the drone at all times.

Are you licensed to fly drones?

Zephyr Drone Services are a responsible commercial operator of UAV’s (unmanned aerial vehicles). We are governed and regulated by the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority), with CAA PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operations) No UAV 8412, CAA approved Operations Manual and hold Public Liability Insurance.

Can you fly indoors?

We can fly indoors so long as reasonable space allows us to do so. The drone can also be fitted with propeller guards.
